How To Write A Valid For Taking An Early Leave?

In order to write a valid letter for taking an early leave, you have to give a brief description of why you need to leave work early. Secondly, try to mention the reason behind your leave (don’t put too much detail here yet). If you have duties in progress, you should mention an alternative solution to that work or what needs to be done before you can leave. Please do not forget to express your appreciation for granting the opportunity to leave early. Here are some examples which you can use in writing your letter.

Example one:

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to request an early leave from work on Monday, October 1st. I understand that this is short notice and will be happy to adjust my schedule for the week to make up for the time I am taking off.

I am taking my annual physical on that day and would like to take advantage of the morning appointment hours. My doctor’s office is about 30 miles from my home and I can only get an appointment at 8:00 a.m., so with traffic considerations, leaving at 4:30 a.m. is necessary to make sure I can get there on time.

After my appointment, I will return to work immediately, and be back in the office by 9:30 a.m., barring any unforeseen circumstances.

Thank you for your consideration,

[Your name]

Example two:

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to request that I be able to leave work early today. I will be leaving at 2:00 PM.

The reason for this is that I have a very important doctor’s appointment at 3:00 PM, and I am afraid that if I do not get there on time, my results will be delayed or the doctor will not see me.

I understand that if this leave is granted, the work that is usually done at the end of my day will need to be completed by someone else. The person who can help you with this is [name], who can be reached at [contact information].

Thank you for your consideration in granting this leave early.

Example three:

Dear [Professor or Boss],

I would like to request a leave of absence from my position as [position] from [date] to [date] so that I can attend my sister’s wedding in Kansas City.

I understand that this is a busy time for the department, but if possible, I would like to take the day off on [date]. If this is not possible, I would appreciate it if you could approve my leave for the next few days after that date so that I may travel to and attend the wedding.

I will be able to make up any work I miss while I am gone, and will be available via email if there are any urgent matters.

Thank you in advance for your consideration. Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information.

Sincerely,
